BOSTON - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will visit Boston on Friday, but her stops will be closed to the public as she races through a series of fundraisers before a deadline Saturday for financing her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The New York Democrat will come to Massachusetts after an appearance in Concord, N.H. She will then leave the state, destined for Florida, a major fundraising destination.
Clinton has a personal connection to Massachusetts, having graduated from Wellesley College. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, also found Massachusetts to be among his most financially supportive states while he served in the White House from 1993 to 2001.
Total money raised by the presidential candidates through March 31 will be released to the public on April 15. Political activists from both the Republican and Democratic parties often use the first-quarter figures to assess the relative strength of their party’s candidates.
